Updated 2020 Schedule Now Available
As most of you know, back in March we made the extremely difficult decision to postpone and reschedule all of our Chasing Epic spring trips in April, May and June. Out of respect for our clients, guides, trip leaders, and the communities we visit each year, it was the right call.
After evaluating the current (and future) situation, we’ve updated our 2020 trip calendar and we’re excited to share it with you. Beginning with our Monarch Crest Wildcard trip in late July, we have a full slate of trips that run well into fall. Of course, we’re required to abide by local restrictions when it comes to our group size and other standard practices, so you may see a few new things – like wearing masks when necessary, washing hands and riding in smaller groups, etc– but we’re confident it won’t affect the amazing experience that we provide on each and every trip.
So take a look at what we’ve got on tap for the second half of the year, and hopefully we’ll see you on a trip this year. And in the meantime, put in the miles and be sure to stay safe.
Yep, you read that right: an enduro-style trip from Chasing Epic. For 5 days (four full days of riding), this trip is all about the rowdy descents. We’ll utilize shuttles for a majority of our rides, and they’re going to be big! The Monarch Crest is one of the most famous trail systems in the world, and we’re going to explore every descent off the top and then some.
Each day we’ll put together huge rides that will blow your mind: we recommend advanced level riders for this one. If you’re wondering if you’re up for the challenge, just shoot us an email and we can help you out.
Epic alert! New for 2020, we’ve decided to expand north of the border: we’re now offering Revelstoke, British Columbia as a new Chasing Epic destination. We’ll be up front about this one- advanced and expert level riders only. This trip will set new standards when it comes to steep and rowdy terrain, and we want you to be up to the challenge. This trip is longer than our standard trip, and includes many more shuttles and a heli drop… needless to say, it’s going to be epic.
Fall in Crested Butte is possibly our favorite time of year: the leaves are changing, the weather is perfect (albeit a bit chilly), and the trails are in amazing condition. For four days, we put together some of our favorite rides like Teocalli-Strand, 403-401, and the world-famous Doctor Park combo. We’re regularly climbing 3,000 feet in a day but with our shuttles, we’re getting over 5,000 feet of descent. You can’t ask for much more.
Because this trip is at such high elevation, we ask that you’re up for the challenge: make sure you put in major miles in training for your trip, as we know that you’ll enjoy it much more if you’re in shape to ride four big days.
Sun Valley in the fall is absolutely incredible: cool temps, perfect trails, moody weather, and some of the most amazing singletrack you’ll experience! For four days we’ll put together big rides and huge descents on unique terrain that seems to go on forever; it’s not unusual to do 25 miles and close to 4,000 feet in a day, before enjoying a beer and an amazing dinner in town. These trails aren’t the most technical (the term “fast flow” is often used), but make sure you’re in shape for this one, as it certainly is physically demanding!
It’s not a Chasing Epic trip schedule without Moab, and 2020 is no different. We’ll head to the high desert in mid-October, where you can step up your game by tackling the most technical trails Utah has to offer. For four days, we’ll hit the slickrock and ledgy terrain of Moab hard, with trails like Captain Ahab, the Whole Enchilada, and plenty more. Moab is an adult playground with all it has to offer, and we can’t wait to show you the goods!
Since adding Brevard late last year, one of our favorite trips is to head east and ride the amazing trail networks of Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Park for four days, while the west is deciding if it’s time for winter or not. Brevard has it all from super-tech trails like Bennett Gap and Middle Black, to trails to get your flow-on like Ridgeline in Dupont.
For this trip, we recommend you have above average technical skills, since Pisgah demands your best every time we hop on the saddle. We’re already counting down the days for this one!
Private Trips
If you have a group of 8 or more and want to put together your own trip, we do still have a few open dates on our calendar during the remainder of the year. You’ll get everything we include on our standard trips, and we can also customize the itinerary specific to the ability level and needs of your crew. Just shoot us an email and we’ll start working on it!
