Our Team

Steve Mokan | Owner and Trip Leader

Chasing Epic is owned and operated by Steve Mokan, a long-time Colorado mountain biker and a veteran of the adventure sports world.  Steve has worked with numerous adventure travel companies, outdoor gear manufacturers, and ski resorts across the west as a photographer while spending the first several years of his life in corporate America, no doubt getting ready to launch Chasing Epic. Steve believes in putting together trips like he would for his closest friends- a trip where we focus on having fun, riding the best trails, and enjoying the company of others that love riding as much as we all do here at Chasing Epic.

Scott Cody | Trip Leader

Scott has been mountain biking for over 20 years, logging miles from Seattle to San Diego, Whistler to Wyoming and most places in between. Scott has competed at various levels in nearly every cycling discipline (downhill, XC, enduro, road, endurance) and currently spends his time off the bike designing and building trails in numerous areas around the Front Range of Colorado. Scott began his outdoor career as a rock climbing instructor and outdoor guide when he was 19. “For me, the best part of leading trips is sharing a new trail or experience with someone and seeing them light up with stoke… it’s awesome.”

Bill Radecky | Trip Leader

Bill has been racing off-road motorcycles since he was a kid; his racing career has given him the opportunity to travel the US and most of Europe.  A few years ago he transitioned that love of two wheels to mountain biking, competitively racing on the Big Mountain Enduro series.  Bill is also a member of the Snake River Mountain Bike Club, and does regular trail work on the killer trails in the Big Hole Mountains in SE Idaho.  In the winter he guides snowmobile trips in the West Yellowstone Montana backcountry, and isn’t too shabby on skis either.   By day he is a career firefighter and certified paramedic with the Idaho Falls Fire Department.

Jay Volak | Trip Leader

Jay grew up racing BMX and Downhill in New England before relocating to Colorado over a decade ago.  Seeing his bike as his personal ticket to freedom, Jay has ridden from the lush North Shore of Vancouver, BC to the forests of Northern New Hampshire, and back down to the Red Rocks of Sedona, AZ.  Travel and adventure are huge passions for Jay, and he enjoys leading trips that encompass the whole gamut of what an area has to offer both on dirt and off.  As a former professional Freeskier and current Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer in Denver, Jay values the benefits of eating right and physical training to achieve your goals.
