Worldwide Cyclery: Whistler 2025

Back for the 7th installment of our partnership with Worldwide Cyclery, for 2025 we’re heading back to Whistler!  In case you missed the 2023 edition, or just want to head to BC again, come join Chasing Epic plus Jared and Liam from Worldwide Cyclery for 5 days of riding the Sea to Sky corridor in Whistler, BC from May 31 – June 5.  Our rides will encompass the valley trails in Whistler, down the coast in Squamish, up-valley in Pemberton, and an optional day at the world-famous Whistler Bike Park!  This trip will push your technical limits, so make sure you’re prepared: we recommend upper intermediate to expert level riders in order for you to fully enjoy our planned itinerary.

Each Chasing Epic trip is custom-designed for our clients, but you can expect big days on some of the biggest, baddest, most technical trails in the Sea to Sky corridor.  Make no mistake these are BIG rides, but we’ll also utilize a few shuttles to make sure we’re maximizing the descents and exploring every nook and cranny.  By partnering with our awesome partners at Arbutus Routes, we’ll show you the bucket list rides but we’ll also take you on back country adventures you’d never find on your own.

Per special request from the Worldwide crew, on day 5 there will be an option to ride the Whistler Bike Park with Jared and Liam.  The total cost for this trip is $2995.

Technical Difficulty: Intermediate + to Expert

Fitness Level: Intermediate +

Closest Airport: Vancouver (2 hours)

Expected Itinerary

Day 1 (May 31st): Plan on arriving in Whistler by 5:30pm where we’ll have everyone check in and unpack their gear.  We’ll have plenty of time to build bikes and get demos dialed in before having group dinner and drinks that evening.

Day 2: The first full day of riding, we’ll hit the valley trails around Whistler for an intro into what BC riding is all about.  Likely split into AM and PM loops, we’ll hit a combination of classics and show you some of the rowdier options as well, riding both trails on both sides of the valley.

Day 3: For today’s ride, we’re heading 40 minutes south to Squamish to sample the goods in the Diamond Head area.  We’ll start the morning ride with a pedal lap up to get some flow and tech on trails like Half Nelson, Ditch Pig, and Pseudo Tsuga.  We’ll start the afternoon lap with a shuttle to the top of Garibaldi Road, which will allow us to maximize the vertical and open up a world of trail options!

Day 4: Time to hit Pemberton, which is 20 minutes north of Whistler and offers more of a rugged backcountry feel with their mix of longer trails and slightly drier climate.  Today’s ride will include a big (but mellow) climb to start, but after that we’ll be up top and can sample all the tech and steeps you can handle.  Lots of options in Pemby allow us to add laps for those who want to keep going if others in the group get their fill.

Day 5: Back down to Squamish again, this time we’re heading to world-famous Alice Lake… land of the steeps and slabs.  There are too many incredible trails here to list them all, but just know that this area is a tech-rider’s dream playground!  You’ll get it all today with never-ending slabs, tech chutes, flowy tech, techy flow and more.

Day 6: Departure Day!  Today you’ll have an option to either head out for a ~3 hour trail ride in the Whistler Valley or Blackcomb, or hit the Whistler Bike Park with Jared and Liam.  The trail ride will be suited to the group’s desires on the last day, which usually means a chill “flow” day, or potentially one last steep black (or double black) tech trail.  For those of you choosing the bike park, you can ride all day if you’d like, as today we’re checking out and wrapping up the trip.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Trip

Which airport should I fly into?  For this trip, definitely fly into the Vancouver Airport which is approximately two hours from Whistler.  From there you can either rent a car, or you can take one of the many shuttle options that will drop you off right in the middle of the Whistler Village.  Pro tip: some of the shuttle companies allow you to pay a small fee to get dropped off at your lodging, which we’d recommend if you have heavy luggage (like a bike bag).

Is this trip really for upper intermediates and above?  Yes, absolutely.  While most of the terrain in the Sea to Sky is best ridden by more advanced riders, there’s plenty for solid, experienced mountain bikers as well.  You’ll definitely be pushed, but you can also expect to learn a ton from our awesome guides and you’ll leave our trip a much better technical rider.

What kind of riding should I expect each day?  Depending on the location, each day will be around 15 miles with 2000-3000′ of climbing/descending, with a bit more on a couple of days where we work in a shuttle drop or two.  Some of the climbs can be quite punchy and steep, and some are on gently-graded climbing trails.
