Chasing Epic: The Next Evolution

When was the last time you signed up for something that both scared and excited you at the same time?  When did you last push yourself beyond your pre-conceived limits and came out the other side a better rider and a stronger person?  At Chasing Epic, we believe the best experiences in life firmly lie on the other side of your comfort zone.  Simply put, DO HARD THINGS.

For the last 10 years we’ve operated some of the best guided mountain bike trips in North America.  We’re not giving up that model, we’re simply adapting it to support the next evolution of epic mountain bike trips; trips meant to push you, meant to challenge you, meant to give you something to work towards, all on the best trails in North America.

Beginning in 2026, we have two distinct offerings: all-inclusive, 6-day guided trips in British Columbia designed to help you progress your technical skills and push your limits as a mountain biker, similar to what we’ve successfully operated for the last several years.  And new for 2026: our fully-supported and guided 5-day “Ride Limitless” trips in the Colorado and Idaho high country, designed to stretch your physical limits while riding some of the best alpine singletrack in the Rocky Mountains.  These trips are tough, but the riding is world-class with a focus on the highest-quality singletrack possible.  Even with an increased level of difficulty we truly believe there’s something for all riders… if you’re willing to put in the effort, time and training these trips will be truly epic.

Common FAQs

Why both BC tech and big mountain-based Ride Limitless trips?

To be totally honest, they’re the two styles of riding I’m personally passionate about: steep, challenging tech in BC and pushing myself on incredible high alpine riding in the Rocky Mountains.  Whether it’s pushing your limits and finding crazy technical progression with your riding, or finishing long rides with epic descents and incredible views, it’s what we live for at Chasing Epic.  And we want to bring you along with us.

What is the difficulty level of your Ride Limitless Trips?

In short, you can expect these new trips to be a level harder than our previous Chasing Epic high country trips.  What does that mean?  On average, during the full day rides (days 2/3/4) you’re looking at an average of 25-30 miles with 4-5k’ of climbing and even more descending.  And there might be a “queen stage” that’s a bit harder than the rest – essentially, think of these new trips similarly to some of the more popular multi-day stage races, but without the racing piece.  The locations vary in technical difficulty, so be sure to check out each destination page to get more specific details.

How difficult are the British Columbia trips?  How do I know if I’m ready?

Our BC trips are geared for the technically advanced riders who are looking to push themselves and progress their skills.  We’ll be riding mostly legit black and double black-level trails during our Whistler and Revelstoke trips, which means you should be able to comfortably ride black trails on your home network.  By no means do you need to be an expert-level rider, but we do ask that you’ve got confident bike handling skills and are ready for a challenge.  These trips are quite tough physically too, so the better shape you’re in, the more fun you’ll have!

Why the change from standard guided mountain bike trips?

Over the last 10 years of running trips, we’ve seen a lot… and one thing specifically stands out:  the infectious stoke when people attempt really hard things and succeed. You vs You.  You vs Your Friends.  You vs The Route.  You vs Your Inner Demons.  It’s your choice but be true to yourself throughout the process and amazing things will happen.  Give us your trust and we’ll make it the best mountain bike trip you’ll ever experience.

How are the “Fully Supported” Ride Limitless trips different from standard “Guided”?

When you sign up for a Chasing Epic “Limitless” trip, we hope it means you’re ready to push yourself:  training, nutrition, preparation, the rides themselves.  We’re going to give you all the tools you need to succeed, but it’s up to you to utilize them.  You’ll get totally redesigned training program that starts the winter before your booked trip.  You’ll have check-ins to answer questions and check your progress.  We’ll create social groups for you to interact with the other riders and see how they’re preparing.  During the rides themselves, we’ll have an aid station for support.  And of course all of our Limitless trips include home-cooked meals, ride nutrition and more.
