Brevard with Bobo

Chasing Epic and Biking with Bobo are teaming up for the first time in 2021 for an epic 4-day mountain bike trip to Bobo’s backyard – and the trails that made him famous – in Brevard, NC.  This trip is going to be something special, as we’ve got twists and turns built into the entire itinerary.  Three days of riding in Pisgah National Forest, one full day at Kanuga Bike Park, and a live private concert… yep, this is going to be an incredible trip.

For this trip, expect to put in BIG rides each and every day (start training now!).  This trip is going to focus on rowdy, technical riding with big descents and long days in the saddle, and a super fun park day at Kanuga mixed in.  And since Bobo has spent so much time in the area, he’ll have a special hand in designing our itinerary for this trip.  Expect nothing but the best.

All Chasing Epic trips include absolutely everything you need for an amazing trip: just bring your shoes, backpack, and sense of adventure and we’ll take care of the rest.  We’re the only mountain bike adventure travel company that includes high-end bikes in every one of our trips (you’ll receive an email after registration with further instructions)!

Planned Itinerary

Day 1: After arriving around lunch time, this afternoon we’ll whet our Pisgah whistle with a loop on Squirrel and Mullinax, just up the road in South Mills River.  The climb up Cantrell is pretty mellow (but fairly long), and the descent on Squirrel and Mullinax is a combination of fast flow and rooty tech… a perfect intro for the crew.  For an afternoon ride, this one’s going to be big!  A catered post-ride dinner at the house will be the perfect finish to the first day.

Day 2: You’ve seen the videos, and now it’s your turn to experience… a full day at Kanuga Bike Park!  Yep, we’ll head over to Kanuga in the morning for a few laps, then lunch, and then more laps.  Kanuga is an “earn your turns” style park, but we’ll have a few e-bikes rented for the crew so you can experience some effortless climbs as well.  Bobo is the man with all the lines at Kanuga, so be sure to hang onto his rear wheel!  Later Sunday night, we’ll head over to Pilot Cove for a private concert at the amphitheater by one of Bobo’s favorite bands!

Day 3: EPIC ALERT!  Today is the big ride in Pisgah, and it’s going to push you like no other.  We’ll start the day with a shuttle up to Club Gap where we’ve got a short pedal up to Avery Creek… and a hell of a first descent!  From there we’ve got two legit climbs, but we also have two amazing downhills in Bennett Gap and Middle-Lower Black Mountain.  All told, expect about 18-20 miles, 2500′ of climbing and almost 4500′ of killer descending.  You’re going to be beat after today, so we’ve got a huge catered dinner at the house to make sure you’re fueled up to survive the last day!

Day 4: Just because it’s the last day doesn’t mean we’ll take it easy on you… today we’re going to head just north of Brevard for a loop on Bear Branch, Spencer Gap and Fletcher Creek.  Figure about 12 miles with 2,000′ of climbing, and some “new school” Pisgah downhill with manmade features and awesome singletrack.  We should be done today by around 1pm, giving you plenty of time to drive home or head to the airport for an afternoon flight.
